Present:  Valerie Atkinson (non-teaching staff, co-chair), John Hines (parent, co-chair), Mike Sodomka (principal), Israel Moses (assistant principal, guest), Steve Aeilts (assistant principal, guest), Kandy Hedlund (parent, member), Jodi Brennan (community, member), Denis St. Sauver (district consultant, guest), Julie Coffey (district HR representative, guest), Jackie Lundgren (non-teaching staff, member), Bonnie Bellows (teaching staff, member), Lauren Rekonen (teaching staff, member, secretary), Dave Mergens (teaching staff, member), Derby Campo (non-teaching staff, member), Preston McMillan (teaching staff, union representative), Jennifer Purtell (parent), Kayla Fearing (student), Heather Larson (student)

 

Not present:  Joe Laconic (teaching staff), Tim Hausker (non-teaching staff), Andy Mosca (parent), Sam Buffington (community)

 

I.                    Approval of Agenda

a.      Motion to approve agenda made by Mike Sodomka, seconded by Bonnie Bellows.  Unanimously approved.

II.                 Approval of April 30, 2007 minutes

a.      Motion to approve minutes made by D. Mergens, seconded by J. Hines.  Unanimously approved

III.               Open Forum

a.      D. Mergens:  Update of field improvements:  Everything is going to plan and it should finish on the projected date of August 5, 2007.

b.      M. Sodomka:  Humboldt was well-represented at the Cinco de Mayo festival

IV.              Principals Selection Process-Co-chairs V. Atkinson and J. Hines

a.      We have staff, parent, student, and community surveys done that we need to compile our principal sketch from. 

b.      There are five applicants for the position (3 are from within the district, 2 are from outside of the district) 

c.       Resume committee:  Anne Kellogg (teacher), Dave Mergens(athletic director),  Tim Hausker (educational assistant), Aaron Perrine (teacher), Diane Schroepfer (teacher), John Hines (parent, site council co-chair), Israel Moses (assistant principal), Jodi Brennan (community).  This committee will meet on Thursday, May 10 at 5:30p.m. in the principal’s conference room.  Israel Moses will be the chair of this committee. 

d.      Interview Committee:  Israel Moses (assistant principal), Sue Bobrowski (principal’s secretary), Jennifer Purtell (parent), Valerie Atkinson (staff, site council co-chair), Lisa Boehlke (teacher), Tim Hausker (education assistant), Gil Zamora (community member), Lauren Rekonen (teacher), John Hines (parent, site council co-chair), Andy Mosca (parent), Bonnie Bellows (teacher), Derby Campo or Claudia Perez (non-teaching staff), Kayla Fearing (student).    * This committee is subject to change.  This committee will meet on Wednesday, May 16 and Thursday, May 17 at 4:30p.m. at 360 Colborne. The chair for this committee will be Israel Moses. 

e.      Review of surveys by site council in order to develop our principal sketch.  The following are items mentioned on the surveys:

f.        Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 2:30 in the principal’s conference room: a sub-interview committee meeting will meet to develop interview questions based off of the above list compiled from the surveys.
