Colonel Johnson is a native of Brooklyn Park, MN and started his post-secondary education at North Hennepin Community College there.  He earned his B.S. in Pharmacy and his M.S. in Hospital Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis).  He also graduated from the Command & General Skills Staff Officer Course at Fort Leavenworth, KS.  Before joining our J.R.O.T.C. program in 1996 he was involved in a variety of hands on training for 20 years in the army.

Colonel Johnson enjoys fishing, walking, reading, eating, and orienteering.  He has traveled in Kentucky, California, Texas, Missouri, Georgia, Washington, DC. and Minnesota.  In addition to his travels in the U.S. he has extensive international travel experience having been to Turkey, Italy, Germany, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq.

The colonel's humor is shared with us in his quotations:  "This would be a great job if it weren't for the kids.  Teaching keeps me young."  His  favorite quote from history is:  "Every obstacle yields to effort." (DaVinci)
