HUMBOLDT WINS!!

We are here to stay. The school board approved the athletic field upgrade and more!

In a huge turn out of events we received more than we came for. The school board not only approved the 1.4 million to start our phase one field upgrades they added to the motion that they will keep us on the top of the list for further improvements need to complete our West side Partnership of Excellence Plan.

I want to thank the speakers  Kari Denissen Site Council Community member, Jevita Baheriy Humboldt student/athlete, Don Luna Humboldt Parent and community leader, and Andy Mosca Humboldt parent and Site Council member. We had very good turn out of staff, students, our baseball team and community members thank you all for coming and helping Humboldt become the jewel of the West Side.

We are no longer the best kept secret!!!!

Acting Principal Michael Sodomka tells Humboldt students about the good news at an all school assembly in the gym.  Regarding the May 9th meeting of the St. Paul School Board and their decision to replace the grass in the football/soccer/softball field with artificial turf, install permanent bleachers, a press box, wireless scoreboard, a new public address system and fencing; this is a $1.37 million dollar upgrade.

The Board was reluctant to make capital improvements to just our athletic facilities, so they amended their motion to include support for future academic and capital improvements to Humboldt Junior and Senior High Schools. This is FANTASTIC NEWS and we need to celebrate!.

I would like to thank everyone who was at the board meeting, to express their support, particularly, Kari Dennison (community rep), Jevita Baheriy (student), Andy Mosca (parent), Don Luna (parent/community rep), and Dave Mergens (athletic director) who presented to the Board. The visible support from Humboldt sent a message to the board. Thanks you all for coming! Your attendance and support is appreciated!

We do not know when breaking ground for this construction, but the process has begun and we will remain open!
