Ms. Bellows has been a teacher for most of her life.  It started in her childhood when she and her friends played school.  "I was the teacher, of course.  When we played ‘office’, I was the boss and told others what to do.  I taught swimming starting in high school and continued into college.  It wasn't too difficult to decide that teaching was my choice for a career.  Since I have always enjoyed reading and writing, English became my major."

"There is independence in teaching and the opportunity to try new content and strategies.  It also helps that I enjoy working with young people. I believe that "knowledge is power!" My goal is to empower my students so that they can be successful in their chosen field."

Ms. Bellows has received many Ecolab Grants for promoting excellence in teaching and a Jordan Grant.  She is the English Department Chair.
