Oct. 30, 2007 Dear Humboldt Senior High School Families: We want to inform you of a situation in our school today. We value your partnership with our school, and want to keep you updated on matters that affect us. Today a student found a single bullet in a stairwell and brought it to the main office. We notified the Saint Paul Police Department and searched the building. We also reviewed surveillance video of the area and conducted a locker search. We did not find any other related items, but we are treating this matter very seriously. We have a zero tolerance policy for any dangerous weapon in school, and violating this policy can mean expulsion. The school day continued as normal and most students probably did not notice any disruption. We are continuing to investigate with help from Saint Paul Police. We have a number of emergency plans in place to ensure the safety of our students and staff members. It is a top priority to make sure our school is a safe place where we all can succeed. If you have questions or concerns, please contact me at 651-293-8600. Thank you for your continued support of Humboldt Senior High School. Sincerely, Michael Sodomka Principal
