Major building improvements…a model for the community…lots of good press…and definitely a big jump-start for our environmental school emphasis. Ford Motor Company and Extreme Makeover are a teaming up to award one lucky K-12 school with an eco-friendly makeover of up to $250,000. Students (18 or older), parents, community members, school staff, and teachers are encouraged to nominate Humboldt for the green school makeover by submitting an online survey at www.educatetoescape.com. If we spread the word and get lots of people to enter this contest, our chances of winning go way up. Tell your family, friends, and neighbors to nominate Humboldt for this great opportunity. The winner will be based on a 250 words or less essay answering the question: "Why does your school deserve an eco-friendly makeover?" From the fine print in the "rules": Entries will be judged equally based on the answers to the three survey questions and rated on the following criteria: Consumer Interest/Creativity (25%) and the rationale why the nominated school needs and deserves eco-friendly, 'green' improvements (75%). There is a limit of one entry per person or email address.
